REMEMBERING MIKE

On May 20, 1981, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Michael Robert Cooper was born to Karna and Robert Cooper. Michael lived a life filled with hard work, laughter, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

Michael attended Friendly High School, Class of 1997, and went on to work in construction alongside his brother. His strong work ethic and determination later led him into entrepreneurship, where he continued to provide for his family and uplift others whenever they were in need. Michael’s life was defined not only by what he built with his hands but also by the love, loyalty, and encouragement he poured into the lives of everyone he touched.

As a young man, Michael embraced life with the intention to live it to the fullest. He followed his own path and let the chips fall where they may. The results weren’t always perfect, but he stood by his choices and kept moving forward, always true to himself.

Michael was the proud father of his son, Michael Robert Brown. He embraced fatherhood in his own way—fiercely protective, deeply proud, and always wanting the best for his son. Being a father mattered to him, and even when life was complicated, his love for his son was never in question.

Family was important to Michael, even if those relationships weren’t always easy. He was a Mama’s boy at heart and shared a special bond with his mother. His relationships with his siblings had ups and downs, like many families do, but the love between them always remained strong beneath it all.

Michael was a man who lived life on his own terms. He could be stubborn and set in his ways, but he was also loyal, passionate, and unapologetically himself. He wasn't perfect—but he was real.

On August 13, 2025, he was called home to be with the Lord, receiving his new heavenly address. Michael was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always the one they could depend on in times of need. In moments of crisis or uncertainty, he never hesitated to step in, offering his presence, guidance, and steady hand to ensure his loved ones were cared for. His unwavering reliability and selflessness became a hallmark of who he was, leaving a legacy of compassion and commitment that will never be forgotten. Michael is survived by his beloved son, Michael Brown; his parents, Karna and Robert Cooper; his siblings, Toi, Thea, Marcus, and Mikki; his nephews, Dion, Andru, Kaleel, Jayce, and Marquez; his nieces, Che’Quelle, Tyliea, Destiny, Essence and Wynter; his devoted partner, Crystal along with a host of great nephews & nieces, cousins, extended family, and devoted friends who will continue to honor his memory and carry on his legacy.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The Tribute

You lived life loud, you lived it true,

With your own rhythm, in your own shoes.

No map, no script, no perfect plan—

Just heart and grit, a proud, bold man.

You weren’t one to follow the crowd,

Stubborn, yes—but never bowed.

You loved with strength, through times so rough,

And held on tight when things got tough.

A son, a brother, a father too,

Flawed, but faithful, through and through.

You showed us strength in your own way,

Even when words were hard to say.

Now memories echo in quiet light—

Your laugh, your stories, your inner fight.

We’ll carry you, not just in name,

But in our spirit, through joy and pain.

You were no angel, never claimed to be,

But you were ours—and that’s enough for me.
