Our dear mother passed away peacefully Monday surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a full and blessed life defined by faith, family and an unshakeable spirit. A devoted wife, mother of 12, grandmother of 24 and great-grandmother of 15 - all of which felt her warmth, laughter and love. Her entire life she was a loving, dedicated, special and a great human being that always put others before herself. Despite the difficulties she faced throughout her life, she became increasingly stronger and showed us how to be resilient, kind, honest, and to do our best. Our mother will be remembered for her laughter, charisma, generosity, faith, kind of giving spirit, and for her passion for having her family around and cooking her best Colombian dishes and helping the family in any way possible. Her home was always open, and her heart bigger than the circumstance. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to inspire generations to come. We will miss her dearly though she will be in our hearts forever.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jose G. Uruburo and her daughter Ana. She is survived by her children (Jose, Clara, Edgar, Aida, Carlos, Dario, Martha, Fabiola, Sandra, Claudia and Carolina); grandchildren (Liliana, Arturo, Diana, Joana, Alexander, Cata, Julie, Paula, Andres F., Miguel, Tatiana, Milena, Marisol, Cindy, Katia, Lorena, Andres M., Cristian, Andrea, Andres, Alejandra, Nicolas, John, and Felipe); great grandchildren (Mila, Adriana, Antonio, Alexia, Lorenzo, Serena, Justin, Vanessa, Luna, Liz, Nia, David, Enzo, Sapphire and Gabito); Daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws (Betty, Carlos, Pedro, Mabel, Jon Jairo, Alex  and Alex A.)

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Thibadeau Mortuary Chapel,124 East Diamond Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. We will hold a private viewing for family from 11am -12pm, Public viewing from 12pm - 1pm, and Memorial Services from 1pm - 2pm.

Flowers and donations will not be necessary.
