In Loving Memory

Evett Elizabeth Freeman

August 16, 1964 - June 12, 2026

Evett Elizabeth Freeman, age 61, peacefully departed this life after an illness on June 12, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to those she loved.

Evett was a proud graduate of Potomac High School. She met the love of her life, Jerome Freeman, in 1993 and their relationship blossomed into a lifelong partnership. The couple was united in marriage on August 31, 1994 and shared many years of love, laughter, and cherished memories together.

Known for her generous spirit, Evett was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness touched countless lives, and she never hesitated to offer support, encouragement, or a warm meal. Evett had a passion for sports and enjoyed following tennis, basketball, baseball, and football. She was a devoted fan of the Washington Commanders and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team. She also found great joy in cooking, often bringing family and friends together through delicious meals prepared with love. One of her famous quotes “You never had fried chicken like Evett Freeman’s fried chicken!”

A devoted animal lover, she had a special affection for cats, whose companionship brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life. Though she and Jerome did not have children, Evett’s love extended to her family and friends.

Evett leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Jerome Freeman II; her siblings Richard Hairston, Harold Hairston, Yolander Hairston, Bridgett Hairston McKenzie and her niece and nephews.

Our loving sister, you will truly be missed.
